Trader Class of Pod Freighters
The Trader class is one of the earliest pod designs in the Darjee portfolio, the Traders are the direct forebear of the larger and more efficient Auroras
Equipped with four rings each capable of carry nine pods, two forward and two aft of the command/crew-quarter bulge.
Each ship is equipped with two lighters, or tenders, that can transfer the loaded pods from orbit to the surface and back again. The forward and aft pod clusters are separated by a central section which contains the hanger bay for the lighters, the ship's bridge, and crew accommodation.
At the rear of the spacecraft, safely shielded from the crew and cargo, are the fuel tanks and drive modules. These are, effectively, bolt on units and can be replaced or upgraded easily.
The Traders had a similar performance and crew requirement to the later Auroras, a fact which went against their long-term use. While there are templates available, it is unlikely that any were produced because they require the same amount of rare materials as an Aurora.
One of the significant derivatives of the Trader was the Peter Minuit Class of Trade Survey ship.
