David ap Rhys

   David ap Rhys is the lead character in the the stories Civil Service, Neptune and Sneaky Beaky by Duke of Ramus.
   A former soldier who had seen enough of war to last him a lifetime, he picked up on the fact that there were non-combatant posts mentioned in the US President's speech that told the world that we had been visited by aliens and invited to join their war.  When he passed his CAP test he volunteered to serve in that way.
   Initially posted to the planet Neptune in the Trident system, he was responsible for the mass evacuation of concubines when the Sa'arm arrived unexpectedly.  His parting shot took out the grounded hive ship with a barrage of habitat pods.    He is currently stationed on Demeter in the Poseidon system where he is working with Alex Flowers, the colony's Governor, to improve the lot of those with low CAP Scores.
