This article discusses a subject with undecided "Canon".  The Swarm Cycle writers need to discuss this on the email list, come to a decision, and then update this article to let readers know what Swarm Cycle "true canon" is.

Concubines

  • Concubine Shift - grey shift, holes for head, arms and feet, generally described as "ugly" - average length reaches the bottom of the ass - if you're tall unlucky.
  • Normally replaced in short order by the owner for something he finds more suitable - CS concubines wear it unless tasked with something that requires a greater or lesser covering.
  • Combat - "Crew Conks", Concubines assigned as crew on a ship, are required to wear skin-suits if they are allowed to wear anything.

Usage Notes

Not all stories make mention of the kepi, and many authors have departed from having them used. As such the kepi has fallen into disuse in stories. Avoiding a description of uniform headgear may avoid inconsistencies between stories, but if you need to describe it checking stories that are similar to yours may reduce the potential for minor confusion by your readers.
