Tulakat Contested System

   Tulakat is the system named for the planet Tulak, which in turn was the home of the Tulaki before the Sa'arm invaded and wiped them out.

Tulak

   Tulak is a Sa'arm-occupied world in the Tulakat system that is used as an experimental area for Confederacy forces.  It is being held in quarantine by forces deployed from nearby Truman.  Introduced in Alien Bear Baiting.

The Tulaki

  The Tulaki were the native inhabitants and dominant species of the planet Tulak.  They were wiped out by the Sa'arm.  From 'The Mercury Incident:
   "The Tulaki are a little green-furred race of duck-billed critters -- the fur contains a chlorophyll-like substance -- a bit bluer, but still pretty green -- that makes them a lot more plant-like than humans." and
   "The xenological team says they kind of adapted from a moving Venus fly-trap-like thing."

The Battle of Tulakat

   At the beginning of the Swarm War, the Confederacy naval base nearby at Trumanat sent a force (their entire available fleet) to Tulakat in an attempt to destroy the Sa'arm invasion fleet before it could set up any defenses.  The attempt succeeded at great cost.  Details of this battle can be found in Patrol Commander.
