Hero Class Battle Cruiser

At 250 meters and over 90,000 tons, these behemoths were the top capital ship in the Confederacy arsenal for several years.  Their main weapon was a pair of spinal railguns that ran 2/3 the length of the ship and propelled VW Bug sized balls of magnetized metal with great force.  The ships did not rely solely on their main guns and packed a dozen laser batteries as well as ten missile launchers to port and starboard.

They carry a complement of 14 officers and 170 crew these ships.

Overall the ships have a great reputation and are often used as command cruisers for small squadrons, but a hard hit on the rail-gun can result in a magnetic resonance between the gun and the ships fusion bottle, which often results in the ship's destruction. Still its ability to take out a hive sphere with a single well placed hit means the Admirality isn't willing to give up on its capital ship.
