Nurse Class Hospital Ship
The Nurse class vessels are ships, generally of the Aurora class, that have been modified to provide full medical support to ground operations. The pods have been converted to operating theaters and wards. The vessels also carry two unarmed tenders that can be used to deploy medical pods to the planets surface or recover wounded troops when a transporter terminus is not available or would be detrimental to the patient.
One or more pods can be configured as a hangar bay that services four Galileo shuttles for frontline evacuation of wounded. The shuttles can operate directly to and from the shipboard pod or from a pod that has been detached and brought to a rear area on the surface by a tender.
