General Emre Oran (Turkish Army Corps of Engineers, Retired) is the Director of Industrial Fabrication and Replication in Central Command. General Oran came from a life of wealth and privilege even before his successful 33 year Army career. He is considered an extremely effective administrator and to date has succeeded in completing every colonial installation of massive industrial replication factories on schedule.
Oran is considered unusually attached to his duties, and travels from project site to site in modified Castle-class Corvette. Some consider Oran to be an acceptable ‘compromise’ candidate for the DOMO position. There is some discussion of moving the duties of this Directorate into DECO.
During a time of reduced tension between Turkey and Israel, Oran had formed a partnership with Danny Weizmann, who had retired from the Israeli Defense Forces as a reserve Brigadier and Head of Administration for the Development of Weapons and the Technological Industry. With a small staff, they had done strategic planning for military systems integration and manufacturing. Together, the two believed that the Earth and Confederacy forces could merge replication with Earth's experience in military R&D and logistics, and eventually beat the Swarm with a combination of new methods -the Jeune Ecole- and systematic production. The latter tied them to the Mahanian great battle faction, preparing for the defense of Earthat, but by no means were they exclusively committed to that strategy. Indeed, they were very much in favor of building colonial manufacturing and defense.
Weizmann was Oran's representative to the Policy Board.
