Cultural Changes
Following the revelation that Earth was under threat from the approaching Sa'arm and the only way off the planet for those with a CAP score less than 6.5 was to be picked by a Volunteer during an extraction, many of restrictions and prohibitions that had placed on people's behavior and had been treated as gospel went out of the window.
Fashion
In most communities the first thing to suffer was the dress code as people, especially women, began to display their best assets. Topless became almost compulsory, unless the female's chest was enhanced by a few translucent pieces of lace. Posteriors were covered by the shortest skirts or the tightest shorts possible. Large bags became the accessory to carry as they were needed to carry everything that a girl believed she would need once she was off the planet. Men, faced with a much lesser demand for their bodies opted for skin tight Lycra. In both cases the need to appear attractive to potential suitors lead to a major increase in health club membership and fitness in general.

Religion and Faith
The announcement of an impending invasion of Sa'arm threw the Earth's religious establishments into chaos, some dealing with the new concerns well, and others not so much.
