Artie

Artie, who also posted as Silli Artie, was an early internet writer.  He first posted on Usenet in the newsgroup "Alt.Sex.Stories", which was usually referred to as "ASS", of course.  He later had his own webpage as well as an author's page on ASSTR.  His "Delta Time of Arrival" is a classic of interstellar travel, interstellar warfare, and interspecies relationships.
Sometime in the early 2010's he decided to take his stories off the internet, but he was nice enough to warn readers on his website.  Prudent readers copied everything he had posted onto their own computers.  If you want to read his stories, find someone who was active in the internet story-telling scene between 1990 and 2015 and ask them if you can 'borrow' a copy with Artie's blessings.  Just don't post them on the public internet, we don't have permission to do that.

List of Artie's Swarm Cycle stories with Synopses and Notes

(None of Artie's stories are supposed to be on the public internet.  He gave us permission to keep copies, just don't post them on a public server.)

Lemon Extract

   Setting:
Synopsis: Professor Lemon hasn't been tested.  One of his previous students, now a Marine on pickup duty, doesn't care.  He's getting tested and extracted even if she has to kidnap him.  She knows that once he as a CAP score the Extraction Team will agree with her.
   Status: Removed from public servers
Canon implications: "Lemon Extract" was one of the earliest Swarm Cycle stories, back before "Canon" was decided.  There's nothing wrong with this story, it's just that TH and the authors went another direction.  Maybe if they had read "Lemon Extract" first, they would have chosen it as the basis for "Canon".

The Battle of Escalon

   Setting:
   Synopsis:
   Status: Removed from public servers
Canon implications: "The Battle of Escalon" is classified as "Non-Canon" because it shows how the war ends.  We don't want the war to end, and we don't want anyone to tell us how it ends.

(Someday this will be a navigation template.  It will provide a bar across the bottom of each article with useful navigation links.  Until then, this is just a placeholder to get rid of all the red "broken link" indicators. -ZM User (talk) 10:00, 3 May 2024 (PDT))
