Lunar Moonbases
The Confederacy were quick to use the Earth's satellite as a place to establish themselves. Bases followed a similar pattern by being generally far underground -the phrase "buried under 100 kilometers of rock" has been used- and relying on transporter technology for movement. Most moonbases were named after the crater or Mare in which they were built.

Base Listing (alphabetic list)
This is not a complete list; it is only those bases which have been mentioned in stories. It is known that DECO was building a dozen "million-man" temporary housing bases to ensure that our colony transports, especially the "Cube" ships, never had to wait for passengers. Their plan was to extract everyone as early as possible and provide the new colonists with all needed training time and family bonding time on the base, instead of on the ship.
This "dozen temporary housing" plan got rapidly converted to the "fifty emergency housing" plan when Earth's defending fleet got defeated during the Fourth Battle of Earthat and DECO found it necessary to immediately evacuate everyone possible, regardless of CAP score or desire to emigrate.
Artemis Base
The following is from George Page's "Changes in Altitude", somewhat out of order.
Artemis Base is the primary near-side facility on the moon, and co-ordinates transit and logistics for all Confederacy Military activities in the inner solar system.
There'd been no hint of anything on this scale. "I knew they'd set up some lunar facilities," I said. "But, somehow, I'd never imagined anything quite like this." The viewing window extended all the way around the gallery, and there was no sign of anything else on the surface. This, this was more like an airport departure lounge. A largish space, and given the view through the enormous viewing window of Earth rising over steel-grey mountains...
Most of Artemis Base is approximately a hundred Kilometres below the surface... The base was a rough cube hewn from the moon's bedrock. It featured a large central cavern that was surrounded on all sides by warrens extending out into the rock. A narrow tube extended up to the surface for this dome, and two others out of sight through the windows.
"This observation dome, Marine Surface training area, Navy small craft hangers and EVA," Dunlain said, pointing. "Main Accommodation here at the centre, but there are barracks at both of the military facilities. Offices, Stores, Plant," he continued pointing to each as the image zoomed in. "Overall, there are about five thousand people on the base, concubines included."
"Why the large central cavern?" I asked. "I would have thought that that would be a structural weak point."
"Technically, it is, but we're so deep here that with the nanotech providing structural support, there's no real concern. Anyway, the psych-types insisted. They claimed that we would become vulnerable to various psychoses in enclosed spaces. Cabin fever, that sort of thing."
"'Windows' with high quality screens don't work?"
"They say not. They don't fool the subconscious, apparently. Hence the cavern, and the dome. Not that there aren't enough people here. Artemis serves as the main hub for the Earth/Moon system, and we're building the system-wide hubs at the Jovian Trojans"
Taking a punt, I guessed, "Sensor platforms on far-side for the cis-lunar region, more at oh, L3, or seeded through the belt to cover that side of the system?"
That earned another startled glance and he punched up a projection of the inner solar system: The schematics indicated several clusters of sensors - or possibly stations, I couldn't tell - scattered around the asteroid belt. There were indications of more activity out there, and a fair collection of icons around Mars...
One thing about a facility the size of Artemis Base, space isn't necessarily at a premium...
Copernicus Base
Mentioned in Zipper D Dude's "Three Days in the Moon".
Mentioned in Akarge's "Fly By" (as Lunar Exit Station Copernicus).
Daedalus Base
Also known as Moon Base One or MB1 until a more formal naming scheme came into operation, this was our first Lunar base, roughly 1 Km below the surface on the Lunar "Farside". Started by the initial Darjee assistance crews, it was rapidly taken over by the humans and, even though it was expanded continuously -without overall planning- it was never large enough for all the people, offices, and functions assigned to it.
Officially, the base can only be accessed by transporter. However, it is difficult to believe that there are no escape options; the base has construction and repair equipment so it can be assumed that emergency exit ramps exist.
As soon as adequate construction equipment was available, a newer larger replacement base was built on Earth's Nearside. It was decided to separate the "Outer System Command and Control" function from the "Near-Earth Command and Control" function. Responsibility for overall Confederacy Fleet, Marine Corps, and colony management, and everything inside of the asteroid belt (roughly 3AU) moved to the new Artemis Base, and the old base, now officially named "Daedalus", was thereafter only used for Sol System (Earthat) outer defence.
First mentioned in Zen Master's "The First Command". This base is available for authors to reference or use throughout the Swarm Cycle's timeline.
Lipskiy Base
A satellite base to Daedalus, this was the second base to be built on the moon and is home to the Earthat Confederacy Intelligence HQ. Once Artemis base became operational, rather than transfer the Intelligence HQ along with the rest of the inner Earthat command and control from Daedalus, it was decided it would remain at Lipskiy.
Featured in stories by Starfiend.
Plato Base
Mentioned in Benjin's stories.
Tycho Base
Mentioned in Akarge's "Fly By".
