Confederacy Race Darjee

   The Darjee are the member race of the Confederacy assigned duties as the liaison between the human race and the Confederacy.  They are tasked with providing the resources which are limited to those of the Darjee and the AIs as the rest of the Confederacy cannot stomach participation in anything so vulgar as combat -- even in the face of certain extinction.  This limits the available resources in support of Earth's - and, ultimately, the Confederacy's - defense.
   It is believed that the Darjee were chosen because they have not had all of their profit motive bled out of them before they joined the Confederacy.  It was hoped that this would help them deal with a race which hasn't done the gengineering to remove the drive to compete.
