Patrician Class Patrol Corvette

Overview

The Patrician Class Corvette is one of the original groups of ships donated by the Confederacy, the Patricians are considerably lighter than the Castle class coming in at only nineteen hundred tons, but make up for that by being 15 percent faster in normal space.  The ships lack the Plasma Torpedo Launcher of the Castles and {Shiro]]s and instead carry four 55cm Shipkiller Missile launchers, but their size limits them to twenty missiles (4 ready in tubes plus 16 reloads in the magazine).  The ships back that up with a pair of forward firing light Railguns.  As they are small, cheap, easily manned and used, we built several hundred of them in the first several years of the war.  Known as great raiders and swift strike ships they have proved to be extremely tricky to command as they must face their enemy to fire anything except their point-defense systems and cannot engage multiple opponents.

Has no transporter nexus.  'Fly By' says that the environmental systems are programmed to dim the lights when the rail guns fire and no one can find the command to turn this off.

(Eight different Patricians were present at the Battle of Tulakat and formed a large part of our forces.  Their initial two surprise missile salvos were a large part of the reason our losses were so low.  Only DE-104 Martha's Vineyard was lost in the action.)
