Arrangement

   That '240 pods' thing...20 rings of 6 pods makes no sense.  It would make the ship very long and very narrow.  Not only would such a ship be very awkward to maneuver, the hyperspace bubble is a sphere.  If the bubble does not contain the whole ship, Bad Things Will Happen.
   It would make a lot more sense to have the arrangement something like 12 rings of 20 pods (or even 10x24 or 8x30) so the length is much shorter and the width is much larger.  Who came up with this idea?  Is it mentioned in any stories?  How hard would it be to fix this?
