Colony Class Ship

   An early pod ship, similar in overall design to the Aurora class, but much larger.  Carries 1080 pods.  Six rings of fifteen clusters, with each cluster having 12 pods.  Three rings are forward and three are aft.  First mention is in Civil Service by The Duke of Ramus.

   There seem to be very few of these in use, possible because they are TOO large; there would be very few uses for a 1080-container freighter. Any cargo large enough for that many pods could probably be carried more efficiently by a bulk freighter.

Ship designation Codes are APAM xxx . "APAM" stands for Auxiliary, Passenger, Archaic, Medium.
