V-43 Ocelot Personnel Transport
The V43 Ocelot is a multipurpose high-G capable atmospheric and exo-atmospheric personnel transport.
Performance
Using a combination drive system the Ocelot can operate inside or outside a planetary atmosphere. The outer hull of the lift-body is designed to withstand the immense temperatures generated during high-speed atmospheric entry.
In an atmosphere, the Ocelot uses the Plasma Ram Jet first tested on "Arrowhead" missiles. In a vacuum, an antigravity/ion propulsion system supplies thrust and maneuverability. Equipped with artificial gravity generators the Ocelot is capable of maneuvers beyond twelve g's, while it's occupants experience only a maximum of two g's.
The silhouette of the Ocelot is designed to present a minimal target profile as the vehicle approaches or leaves an engagement area. Adapted to fit the role of helicopters played for armed services on Earth, the Ocelot can be described as a cross between the Sea King and a Black Hawk.
Crew
Operated by flight crew of three to five trained individuals that vary based upon configuration, example configured for close operations support require a pilot, a WSO (Weapons System Operator)/co-pilot, Crew Chief/Gunner and two Door Gunners.
Configurations
The cargo area is configurable to meet a variety mission specs.
- 12 Marines in Infantry Armor|AS-23 powered armor with two support technicians.
- 18 Marines in standard Infantry Armor|Kusari armor with additional tactical/special weapons.
- 12 Triage/Life Support capsules to keep casualties stable until they can be delivered to a med-tube equipped area.
- 3 cargo containers holding anything (combat shelters, armory, field kitchen, combat loadout replenishment supplies, etc). These are loaded from the sides and the container end doors are available with the crew hatches open, or the containers can be quickly slid out to start or add to a firebase.
