John Kucharski
John Kucharski is the lead character in the stories Twelve Steps to the Stars and Racers Race by John the Pipe. Originally from Rhode Island, he is working in a pizza shop when extracted. After leading a series of sober extractions (his idea), he gets posted to Dighton.
He got transferred to the Civil Service because the Marines could not deal with him. Racers Race sees him as a young Sub Decurion who is helping more of his friends get extracted.
The third and final (?) story sees him starting an alcohol rehab on Dighton with the help of Mary, his sober concubine.
Kucharski is a bit of a klutz with some bright ideas. So far things are working out okay for him and his friends.
