CMC Squad

In military terminology, a squad is a military unit led by a non-commissioned officer that is subordinate to an infantry Platoon. It is typically lead by a Staff Sergeant.

Two "team leaders" (Sergeants, E-5) may be present to act as subordinates to a squad leader.

In the Confederacy, if it follows US-pattern TO&E, a squad would usually be comprised of two four-man teams lead by one squad leader, making a squad of nine men. It is not unusual to vary from this design if a squad is intended to operate out of a mechanized vehicle that may have space for more or fewer personnel. In that case the squad size would be adjusted to include such personnel as a driver and gunner who would be dedicated to performing their technical responsibilities while the rest of the squad performed fire and maneuver operations against the enemy.
